In a much-awaited announcement, the (Board of Control for Cricket in India) BCCI announced 17 player squad for Asia Cup 2023. These talented individuals will partake in the India vs Pakistan match.

The chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, with captain Rohit Sharma, disclosed in a press conference that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer returned to the squad after recovering from a back and thigh injury. Watch Asia Cup 2023 in Canada  from 30th August onwards.

Coming to forthcoming ODI matches, Suryakumar Yadav has surpassed Sanju Samson to earn the team’s backup batsman position.

Yadav was a risky choice by the Indian selection committee because he hasn’t played as well in ODIs as he has excelled in T20 matches. However, Samson is still on the team but serves only as a backup.

While several young players have been given an opportunity, the up-and-coming batsman Tilak Varma will play in his first-ever One Day International (ODI) games. He recently began competing for the national squad and is participating in the T20I series against Ireland. Tilak’s outstanding T20I performances made it possible. He strengthens the middle-order lineup with his off-spin bowling abilities.

Besides, this time, Yuzvendra Chahal, renowned for his leg-spin bowling, is not in the team. He hasn’t got a lot of recent opportunities to play in ODIs.

As for the rest, the remaining players are how we would have anticipated them to be, particularly in the fast-bowling area.

Following more than a year apart, Jasprit Bumrah is forging back into the ODI team. He last took part in an ODI for India during their series in England.

Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami also return to the team. India’s normal lineup of first-choice fast bowlers for ODI matches includes these four.

Don’t miss the highly anticipated match – India vs Pakistan in Canada; it is going to be a nail-biting event.
